On the 17th of June, the local area meeting took place at the Barbour Institute in Tattenhall. Burwardsley Parish Council was represented by Cllr. Mellor and Cllr. Stockton. Both Cllr. Mellor / Cllr. Stockton were briefed on parishioners' concerns and referenced these points throughout the meeting.
Official minutes from the meeting will be made available on the Tattenhall Parish website in due course.
Key points noted from the meeting:
Harthill Project: Bolesworth is confident they will obtain planning permission for this project. While no specific start date for the build was given, assuming planning is approved, they hope to open by the start of summer.
Candle Factory Project: There is a strong inference that housing development, particularly larger properties, is the most attractive proposition.
Existing Housing Stock: Bolesworth has committed to developing a plan to address and remedy properties that require attention.
Wedding Venue: The art gallery is being targeted as a potential wedding venue.
Mikerra Farm: Bolesworth informed the meeting that Mikerra Farm is no longer viable and will be closing.
Burwardsley Parish Council remains dedicated to ensuring our village is a peaceful and respectful place to live. We are committed to engaging with key stakeholders and will oppose unnecessary developments to protect our environment. The next area meeting is scheduled for the 18th of September, which Burwardsley has been asked to host. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
